A parent reading "Ice Cream Face" to two students. In collaboration with Dolly Parton Imagination Library and Davis Education Foundation

Learning begins long before a child enters a classroom. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Davis Education Foundation is helping Davis County families build a foundation for early literacy, one book at a time.

As a local program partner, Davis Education Foundation helps children from birth to age 5 receive a free, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their homes every month. The program gives families more opportunities to read together, build home libraries and make books a regular part of a child’s earliest years.

Early experiences with books can help children develop language skills, explore new ideas and build a positive relationship with reading before they begin kindergarten. By making books more accessible to families, the Imagination Library supports early learning and helps children prepare for the next steps in their education.

Community support can help extend that opportunity to more children throughout Davis County. Donations help fund books for participating children, giving more families the opportunity to share stories and build home libraries.

Families can learn more about the program, enroll eligible children or donate to help fund books through the Davis Education Foundation’s early literacy page.

Every child deserves opportunities to learn and grow. By putting books into homes early, families and community members can help build a stronger foundation for lifelong learning.
