Humanities

Doxey's humanities class provides students with an integrated study of history, literature, art, and music. Over the course of the year, students will explore different time periods and cultures from around the world. They will read historical fiction and nonfiction texts, analyze paintings and sculptures, listen to musical compositions, and more. The cross-curricular nature of the course allows students to make meaningful connections across subject areas. Humanities class encourages critical thinking, creativity, and an appreciation for the human experience across time and place. This class is a highlight for many of our students as they gain a broader perspective on the diverse contributions of human civilizations.
